Description: SMARTLIGS is a biotech company focused on drug discovery and drug development by computational chemistry technologies. We collaborate with the pharmaceutical and biotechnological industry in the search of pre-clinical candidates, with the aim of reducing costs, risks and time to market as well.We use innovative computational chemistry technologies, integrated with other disciplines in the research process (molecular biology, organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry and pharmacology), which accelerate development processes while making them more cost efficient.
Products and services: SmartLigs provides high quality stand-alone and integrated in silico drug discovery services, covering the hit finding, hit to lead and lead optimization phases. Our expertise includes among others the following areas:
  • 3D modeling of target molecules.
  • Virtual screening.
  • Docking.
  • Pharmacophoric modeling.
  • Scaffold hopping.
  • Drug reprofiling.
  • ADME/Tox prediction.
  • QSAR-3D.

Our technology is suitable for drug discovery projects in all therapeutic classes.


Main achievements:
  • Patent transfer from a project in which SmartLigs´ team was involved, claiming new active molecules for autoimmune diseases.
  • Technology transfer agreement with CSIC.
  • In silico discovery of new anticancer, antibacterial and antiasthmatic agents.
  • Funded by Genoma España´s Technlogy Portofolio Program.
  • Participation in the Collaboration Program BIPPED2 of Comunidad de Madrid.
